Hi, I just finished building my first Mackintosh and after a successful installation of El Capitan (following this guide) Ive run into some problems, which I couldn't fix even after looking through the forums at tonymacx86. So I decided to ask you guys first.

First of all my specs: http://ift.tt/29lnvRh

Motherboard is an ASRock Z97M OC Formula, el Capitan is running on a 1TB SSD. So first of all I couldn't boot from the SSD. I had to go through the USB Device and choose the El Capitan partition to boot from. I thought maybe there was something wrong with MultiBeast so I went for the alternative method mentioned in the guide - same problem. So I began checking the other stuff and I noticed, that my Mackintosh still identifies itself as an iMac - even though I configured it as a MacPro 3,1. Then I noticed, that the sound was not working at all. So I was wondering, if the whole process after the installation did nothing? Only the nVidia drivers were successfully installed after I downloaded them. Can anybody tell me what could be going on here?

Hey guys, first time posting here. I am trying to install El Capitan on an old laptop that was left collecting dust. It is the Acer Aspire 4755G. Spec wise, it seems to be compatible in my opinion.
*CPU: Intel Core i3 (2nd Gen) 2330M / 2.2 GHz *GPU: HD3000 (mine doesn't have the NVIDIA GPU) *RAM: 2GB( I have another 1GB stick lying around so I will add that if I need)
I followed the tonymacx86 guide, found here:http://ift.tt/23CnxFh

I selected UEFI as this laptop supports UEFI.

Prior to installing this, I found a post of a person that successfully installed OS X Lion. (Mind you it was the latest when the post was made.) His model is 4750G while mine is 4755G. These two are almost identical except for the NVIDIA GPU but he never got it working either way.

Hey guys,

I just migrated into a new mATX case (Raijintek Styx) and fitted a new cooler. Now weirdly enough as the title says I'm not able to boot into my windows hdd anymore. I didn't bootload it through clover but it always worked when booting from the bios before. What settings could I have changed by accident? I already checked the cables etc. The bios recognizes the HDD but it's not listed as a bootable device anymore. My mainboard is Asus H97-ME

So I originally made a thread asking for help on a HD 4000, turns out that DELL incorrectly listed the specs of my laptop online and I actually have a Sandy Bridge 1st Gen Intel HD (8086:0106)

Could anyone help me get it running?

I was originally just using FakeID 0x01660003 to run it but it turns out that wasn't even correct for my setup.

Thank you :)

Before I say anything, I'm just gonna put it out there that I'm not really sure where (as in what subreddit) this question belongs in. If it's better suited elsewhere, please let me know and I'll move it accordingly.

I just got a macbook pro that I originally wanted to partition for windows, but since I got the 128GB model, I opted to just get an external hard drive and attempt to install windows on that. It's a 2TB hard drive though, and I wasn't planning on using the whole thing for windows storage. So my question is this: should I partition the hard drive and use around 500GB (or whatever) for windows and the rest for mac, or would it be smarter/easier/possible to just leave it as one partition, install windows on it, and still use it as storage for my mac?

I've got drivers from the manufacturer on my mac that allows the mac to read/write to the hard drive when it's formatted for windows.

Hi. I've been using a hackintosh as my secondary OS for a while now (Yosemite) and my main OS has been Windows 10. I love how OS X looks and feels and just everything about it. Im wondering if i should: A) Completely just use hackintosh only B) use hackintosh as main OS with Windows on other HDD just in case C) use windows 10 as main OS with hackintosh on other HDD Here's why im asking this: I do Windows software development using Visual Basic. I basically need Windows. But I'd love to use OS X as my main OS now. I do app development for phones, as well as web design and graphics design, and a lot of video editing. Would Mac OS be able to handle these things better than Windows 10 will? And would i be better off keeping windows 10 on a secondary HDD so I can just use that whenever I need to do the software development in visual basic?

My specs are below:

AMD A8-5600K 16gb Corsair vengeance Ram (2x8gb) 120gb OCZ SSD (windows 10) 1tb WD HDD (Windows 10 storage) 500gb Samsung HDD (Hackintosh) EVGA GTX 750Ti 2gb Asus A88X-Pro motherboard

So out of options A, B, and C, which should I go with?

Specs: i3-6100/ GIGABYTE GA-H110M-A/ EVGA GTX 960

I'm not really good at this stuff but I managed to install OS X 10.11.5 using Clover without any issues except the graphics card. I've tried nearly everything I could find on google such as uninstalling/installing with nv_disable=1 / nvda_drv=1 I have disabled injecting in the clover config.

The graphics driver installed is: http://ift.tt/29tAFd7

System Information: http://ift.tt/29Aj71N / http://ift.tt/29tAApL / http://ift.tt/29Aj4TK / http://ift.tt/29tAD50

It may be that my GPU is installed in PCI slot 1 and OS X is reading PCI slot 0? http://ift.tt/29AiQf4

I would really really appreciate if someone could help me figure this out.

Hello! Audio drivers should be fairly manageable during post-installation if you have a compatible motherboard. The hard bit is actually configuring it.

Most motherboards (if not all) provides audio tweaking tools (such as control panels) for their respective audio drivers. Mine, for example, an ASUS H81M-A/BR has a pretty nice audio control panel for its Realtek HD Audio Drivers. Only for Windows, sadly.

I'm using a cheap, generic headphone connected to my back panel, and its volume is actually lower than it's supposed to be. That's probably because it's being recognised as speakers, rather than headphones. When I first installed the audio drivers for my motherboard on Windows, it was set to back panel speakers. So I just had to set it to headphones and voilá, the volume went up.

How can I manage that on OS X? Is there any free (as in gratis) audio suite that can manage that? I'm using the Realtek ALC887/888b audio drivers, from the latest MultiBeast version for El Capitan. The sound output is set as Internal Speakers, the type is built-in.

Decided to finally build my own computer after all of these years, and I've always hesitated to because I just loved the Mac OS. I finally took the time and effort to make a 100% working Hackintosh. This computer took two entire weeks (probably more) of non-stop troubleshooting and agonizing failures and countless installs. The result was all worth it in the end.

Parts:

Gigabyte GA-Z170N-Gaming 5 Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard

Intel Core i7-6700K 4.6 OC

GeForce GTX 1080 8GB Founders Edition (Only usable in Windows at the moment)

Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory

Corsair H80i GT 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler

BitFenix Prodigy M Arctic White MicroATX Mini Tower Case

NZXT HALE82 V2 550W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Samsung 850 EVO 500GB M.2-2280 SSD (For El Capitan)

Samsung 850 EVO 120GB SATA SSD (For Windows)

WD 1TB Hard Drive (For Storage)

What's working:

Everything.

iMessage

Audio

Accelerated Graphics (With IGFX)

Windows Dual Boot using Clover

Using Parallels to have full access to my Windows partition.

Bluetooth

Wifi

The ONE thing I couldn't get working, was handoff. I guess I just couldn't figure it out. :/

Hello, I have installed Yosemite to my Alienware x51 using Niresh. My computer will not detect any boot loader other than the one stored on the original USB used to install. I have tried Clover, Chameleon, Enoch, and Chimera. Nothing is working. Please help! I know I am installing to the right disk, I am using a Sandisk 250GB SSD and it is the only hard drive located in the computer.

Build:

  • Asus P8H61-M LE/CSM (Rev 3.0)
  • Intel Core i7-2600(non-k)
  • BFG Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX 512MB
  • 8GB RAM
  • Crucial MX100 512GB SSD

Summary:

I created a MacOS Sierra USB key using the copy over packages method. So I did NOT use createinstallmedia. Using Clover r3577, I was able to inject FakeSMC and NullCPUPowerManagement into my DP1 install.

Following the update to DP2 from MAS, DP2 failed to boot; giving me the AICPM KP. With the help of /u/caishville in his post detailing having to install the kexts (FakeSMC and NullCPUPowerManagement) directly into S/L/E, I booted into recovery, manually installed the kexts, and viola. I am here typing this post on my Sierra Hackintosh.

Whilst my Ethernet works, l am having to install kexts directly into S/L/E as MacOS is not letting clover inject; I am also having trouble with loading Toledo's HDA patch as well as countless others, in effort to solve non-working audio.

Edit: Formatting and spelling.

Hey all!

I'm a long-time mac user who recently switched back to PC because of economic reasons. I actually got my start with Macs after hackintoshing my old HP Pavillion laptop in 2007, and now that I'm back to the PC side I'd like to do so again so that I can keep being even a partial Mac user. My new laptop is an AMD-equipped HP Pavillion dv7 (the Beats Audio edition) from 2012 and I was hoping for some help in knowing what to expect and what problems may arise as I embark on this project. I know that most custom hackintosh versions of OS X have custom AMD drivers and support, but if my memory serves me, my old Hack worked ALMOST flawlessly...except for wifi, which didn't work. I had to buy a USB dongle at that time. I guess what I'm saying is, I don't expect this to be a flawless install, but I would super appreciate input from all of you guys on challenges to expect and workarounds. If I need a dongle again that's okay with me, for example, I just want to plan this all out.

I mean...you can take the mac away from the mac user, but you can't take the mac out of the mac user ;) :p :D
