I'm trying to install Mavericks on my laptop, it's an MSI GS70. I understand my chances are slim with a laptop but I figured I'd try before putting Windows 7 on it.
I'm using this guide.
So I have Mavericks downloaded from the app store, put it on an 8GB key with Unibeast, and tried it. It boots fine to Chimera. Whatever options I try for the bootloader, I get the grey Apple logo screen and then it reboots.
-v wasn't much help, I tried to keep up with the scroll but the last thing I could see was something about webdav and then it rebooted shortly after that. I've tried -x, GraphicsEnabler=No, IGPEnabler=No, PCIRootUID=1, all on their own and in several combinations, it always reboots after the Apple logo.
I've remade the key a couple times too, once with Laptop Support and once without.
I've also tried remaking a key with myHack using this guide, but that just gives me "boot0:GPT" 7 times, then "boot0:error".
