Hi Reddit, I have a problem. I don't know where to post that, so I will try on couple of subreddits. I have a Macbook Air and I never thought I will need a cable to connect to the Internet. Recently I moved to a dorm where all of the students get their own username and password and everyone get to use the same protected connection. It is similar to Eduroam. And they don't have routers, they only have cables to connect to the Internet. I bought a Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter so I could connect myself to the Internet. I followed the instructions and setup the settings, and my Internet is working perfectly now. The thing is, I still need Wi-Fi for my phone, iPad, etc. And the internet here is protected by 802.1X. I don't know much about computers and programming, so I have no idea what to do :/ Everyone in my dorm doesn't know either. Every time when I want to share a connection (create a wifi hotspot), it says "Your Internet connection cannot be shared because it is protected by 802.1X." So please, help me make this work. :)
