Hello everyone,
I have had this hacktinosh build for a few months now and it's been pretty unstable. According to Gigabyte's site, this board has Realtek ALC 892 audio codec. I have never been able to get any audio using the ktext for ALC 892 that is included with Multibeast. I have followed guides (here), (and here) with no luck. I have copied Multibeast settings from other people with the same board or codec and was unsuccessful. No audio output devices show up in the settings.
However I do get audio if I select ALC 887 (legacy and current) in Multibeast. But sooner or later the audio will start to get static and eventually stop completely, muffled by the static. Likely because I am using the wrong codec but I have no other option for now. I also get occasional freezing and have to force reboot the computer. I am not sure if it has to do with using the ‘wrong’ codec for this board but seems likely.
Has anyone else had a similar experience or know of a solution for my board / codec? This is getting really frustrating because the machine is unreliable right now.
Side note: in Windows, everything runs perfectly all day every day so I don’t think it’s a hardware issue.
