So i have been spending the past few weeks pouring a lot of time and effort into getting OS X Mavericks to run on my ASUS N76VM Laptop. And at this point i have "everything" working. internal nvidia card is not working and most likely never will. For me that is no problem. WIFI card is also unsupported, but i get by with a small USB wifi dongle and ethernet at home.
The past few days i have been setting everything up, and a few hours ago i took the next step in my plan, to install Linux Mint on the second half of my HDD. Install went easy, and i knew that i could be expecting some trouble since bootloaders seems to battle it out pretty violently across the different platforms.
And after installing Mint and rebooting. i did boot into the grub bootloader that Mint brought along. The OS X partition shows up in grub, but from previous experience, i knew that booting into OS X from grub is a no no. Well at least with my amount of knowledge about bootloaders. And i would also prefer to use chameleon/chimera bootloader as default.
i am perfectly able to boot into my OS X partition using a bootable USB os x installer and hammering ESC on BIOS boot, and then selecting my OS X partition. So that is where i am now. i downloaded the Chameleon iso, and was about to install it, when i decided to take a look in the Extra folder in the ISO, and saw that there was a Boot.plist file and a preboot.dmg. that made me worry if i was about to install a bootloader containing parameters that is not compatible with my current system. i would REALLY hate to loose my setup at this point.
So what am i looking at here?
Can i safely run the chameleon.pkg installer you think ?
