Dear all /r/hackintosh I'd like to build my first hackintosh that will be my main cross-platform Development. I'd like you help to choose the different part.
Use-cases: (most important to less important): Playing/testing games (think about guildwars2, borderland2, etc). OpenGL Development (i have some big code base that take me 40min to build, CPU/OpenGL performance are very critical for me). I'll run occasionally some build/tests on virtual machines (Windows+Visual studio/Linux+gcc). I'll record some videos for my OpenGL applications.
Budget: 1525USD/1100€. I can go bit higher if needed. Constraints: to avoid noise/heat issues. Box size does not matter. I’ve read many topics regarding the usage of ATI GPU and some recommendations of R7 8 9 series that may perform better in OpenGL than Nvidia GPU but it’s not clear to me what works and what doesn’t. Any insights are welcome. Thank you in advance.
