I see all these guides that tell you to turn off vt-d and vt-x in order to get your hackintosh to boot. What if I want those on so I can run VMs inside OS X?

I currently have a Z77M-D3H with i5-2500 running 10.9.2 but enabling either vt-x or vt-d causes boot to hang. Has anyone been able to get their hackintosh to boot with these on?
