My situation:

I just came back from a trip where I was given a spare iPad 1st gen and a 2008 macbook (unibody) from a family friend. (I logged into messages on the iPad and did a fresh Mavericks install with the macbook and logged into messages with that too)

After my two week trip, I turned on my hackintosh and I can't seem to be able to log into iMessages. iMessages says "Could not sign in to iMessage. An error occurred during activation. Try again."

I have no other issues with the App Store, iCloud, etc.

My Specs:

10.9.4 on a Sabertooth X79 (I was on 10.9.3. and figured I'd update since people didn't seem to be having trouble with iMessages on 10.9.4. Also this spec list updated this with a complete spec list if necessary)

How I've tried to trouble shoot so far (in BOTH 10.9.3 and 10.9.4):

  • Logged out of iMessages on my iPad and Macbook

  • Reinstalled and retried every FileNVRAM (from 1.1.1-1.1.3)

  • Reset my Serial number in my SMBios with Chameleon Wizard

  • Tried resetting my network preferences with en0 (I even tried using clover and the FixAirport Acpi)

  • Deauthorized all computers on iTunes and reauthorized my hackintosh with no issue (I figured it wouldn't hurt to take a step like this)

I feel like I tried every traditional iMessages fix and I can't help but to think my 2 weeks absence and logging into other machines has something to do with the problem. Would anyone have any ideas?
