Taking my system out of the comforts of home for a few weeks for some work on the road. I won't have reliable internet access, and I'll be working with it most of the day. Now, the ol guy is pretty stable- there's an occasional SNAFU situation, but is usually quickly fixed. Rare that it totally shits the bed. But I am a little concerned that if the worst were to happen and the whole thing takes a wrong turn- what's the best way out of it? Cloned disk with a basic working system? Time machine backup? Fresh Emergency USB stick? All? Currently I have a backup drive with basically just the system and a few of my most used apps on there, in addition to a usb stick that is just for OHSHIT moments. I figure if I have a bootable system ready to slide in, it's not like the apps or files on my (previously) main boot drive won't work- it would just be that I can't boot from it.

But I'm wondering what all of you nice redditors would recommend... What's the fastest way out of a broken hackintosh hole without losing too much productivity? Any tricks?
