Does anyone else have strange audio problems when waking from sleep? I have tried several different methods of patching AppleHDA.kext for the ALC893 including

  • Multbeast 6.1.0

  • Multibeast 6.3.1

  • toleda's CloverALC patch using realtekALC.kext

Currently I have the CloverALC method, and I'm finding that when waking from sleep, the headphone jack detection feature is "frozen", so to speak. With Multibeast 6.3.1, when waking from sleep, audio would crackle for a few seconds, then completely stop. Multibeast 6.1.0 had the same problem as CloverALC, but as a workaround I could 'kextunload' and 'kextreload' AppleHDA.kext and it would be back to normal.

Basically, when I boot up, the front panel jack works like you'd expect. After sleeping however, whatever the state of the headphone jack was (either rear green jack or front panel green jack) will be the only one that works. To switch to the other one, I have to reboot to get the autodetection working again.

Someone on tonymacx86 had a similar problem (sorry, can't find the exact post right now -- too many posts about audio!) and toleda basically said that Intel 8 Series audio has problems with pin detection when waking from sleep. I was just wondering if anyone else had the same, or very similar board and was having similar issues, becuase I figure if it was a problem with the whole 8 Series chipset, then there would probably be a lot more complaints about it.

Full specs:

  • Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3

  • Intel Core i3 - 4330 + Intel HD 4600 Graphics

  • 4GB Corsair DOMINATOR RAM - 1600MHz

  • Mavericks 10.9.4 (problem existed w/ 10.9.3 as well)

Thanks, and sorry for the lengthy post :P
