Hey guys, I work mostly in FCPX and DaVinci Resolve. My main caveat is if I can run two AMD video cards.

I'd like to be able to replicate the setup that the current MacPro has. Does anyone know if this is possible? If so, would 7970s be a good option? Which company? (EVGA, Gigabyte, etc) Would FCPX and Davinci take advantage of the extra card? Anything better / more cost effective? I was told that Nvidia doesn't play well with dual video cards, which makes sense as Apple hasn't done a dual GPU with Nvidia.

My total budget is a little under $2000 so here's what I'm hoping.

  • Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD5-TH

  • CPU - Core i7-4790K 4.0Ghz

  • GPU - ???

  • RAM - 16gb (2x8gb) Ballistix Sport Kit - I'll upgrade to more later.

  • Drives - Toshiba 512gb SSD and LaCie Thunderbolt 5Big (already own both)

  • Power Supply - EVGA Super Nova 750 B2

  • Case - Rosewill Legacy MX2-S

  • Optical Drive - Holding off for now

  • Monitor - Samsung 4k U28D590D

Also, will this case be able to house 2 GPUs? I don't think I'll be needing wifi, but for bluetooth, should I just get an IOGear Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter?

Any other input? Did I forget anything? Thanks, guys!!!
