So apparently the 970 works in Yosemite (http://www.tonymacx86.com/buying-advice/141637-gtx-970-gtx-980-here-2.html) but I was planning on a Mavericks build. The 780 is on sale right now for $300 with free shipping at NCIX (http://www.ncixus.com/products/?sku=88434&vpn=GTX780-DC2OC-3GD5&manufacture=ASUS&promoid=1441)
Should I get the 780 now because it's known to work or wait it out for the 970?
