I read countless times that if your front panel is AC97 and not HDAudio, it will never work.
I gave up on mine as it never worked. But today I booted with earphones plugged into the plug on the back AND earphones in the front panel.
Earphones in the front panel now emit sound... I don't know what happens if I don't boot with earphones plugged in. What gives? Anyone with experience on front panel AC97? How do you reliably get sound out of the AC97 front panel?
