Hello,

I am new to the Hackintosh community - recently, I've installed OS X 10.9.4 (Mavericks) fresh on a harddrive, using Unibeast (as explained here), and Multibeast 6.4 after the install was done. I have had tremendous success.

The build I am using is as follows:

  • Intel core i5 2500k

  • Gigabyte z68x-ud3h-b3

  • 8 GB RAM

  • Saphire Radeon HD 6850 graphics card

  • 1TB HDD

I have everything working (mostly - I can't get the computer to stop defaulting to "AIRPLAY" over my receiver (on the same router)) except for the DVD-ROM. I got an error 70012 when trying to access the DVD-ROM, so I can't install any software via that drive. I saw several patches and people reporting success using ML kext fixes... But it seems like patching over and using terminal have just further corrupted the drive. I no longer get the 70012 error, but I get a generic "faulty driver" or something very close to that error. Is there a way to un-do my folly, get me back to the 70012 error, and then try to fix it again?

Any help is tremendously appreciated.

Thanks!
