When Yosemite came out I dug out the Chameleon USB and within about an hour I had a fully functional, and stable version of Yosemite. My Windows 8.1 also booted without issue.

The problem of course, as many other have been having is that some of the features of Yosemite didn't work due to limitations/outdated fixes. iMessage, FaceTime, etc. were all reasons why I decided to try the migration over to Clover.

So, I dived in and got it installed.

The experience so far has been mixed. Despite me paying a really nice person to help me set things up, I am still getting "glitches."

My Mackintosh will sleep, and then wake up hours later at the Clover boot screen. My WiFi will lock up all devices on the network. And just today, the Clover boot menu takes twice as long to load as it did when I first installed it.

While I may have gained some features, I've also lost that feeling of stability.

The other issue, and one of the biggest for me is that support is far and few in between. If I have a question about Chameleon, I will generally be able to get, or find an answer. With Clover, tracking down simple answers is a serious effort.

So, I dunno. At this point I'm starting to get frustrated. I can't seem to solve these issues, and I'm not sure the added features are worth the headache of all the other issues. I've basically traded one set of issues for another, but the previous issues didn't affect my day-to-day working.

Anyway, so far I'm not impressed with Clover. I realize it is supposed to be the way forward, but there is something to be said for the tested methods of Chameleon.

I think I'll give this another week of fiddling, and if I can't sort out these issues, I'll make the switch back and forget iMessage/Facetime for now.
