Maybe one of you fine folks can help me figure this out. First, my rig:

Z77-DS3H i7 3770 3.4 GHz 16 GB 1600MHz RAM GTX 760 SSD boot drive 2 TB for user 2 TB for media Yosemite/Chimera 4.0 (though these issues have been consistent since I build this thing with Mountain Lion)

I'm told you're supposed to enable XMP Profile1 in your BIOS for the Hackintosh. However, when I do so I get some weird issues. If I'm using the Mac Pro 3,1 system definition, everything seems to work all right (the processor even steps down without the SSDT), but if I have XMP on then I lose USB when waking from sleep and I need to restart to get it back.

Using the Mac Mini 6,1 definition with XMP enabled, my display won't wake from sleep.

I'm not too concerned about it. With the XMP off everything is working fine (I'm running Mini 6,1 now with an SSDT) and I get about 14100 in GeekBench 3. This is great. However, I'm annoyed knowing that I could be getting 14800 or so with XMP enabled.

Can anyone explain to me why this might happen, and what the XMP is meant to do for me anyway? As it is my RAM is being read in 'About this Mac' properly at 1600 MHz.
