This is my first time building a computer so I've done a bunch a research but have heard these can be a pain if you get the wrong parts so any help would be greatly appreciated!
Use I'm looking to us it mostly for VFX work - 3D modelling, video composting and editing. Nothing too crazy though, it's just for my personal projects. Will also be doing some gaming too because why not.
I found this build on tonymacx86 but I wanted to get some advice before jumping in and buying stuff.
Build Motherboard - GA-Z97X-UD5H CPU - Intel Core i7-4790K Graphics card - ASUS GeForce GTX 680 DirectCU II Ram - Kingston HyperX Beast 16 GB Kit (2x8 GB) 1600MHz DDR3 or - Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz Power - corsair 850ax 850watt SSD (boot) - Samsung 840 EVO MZ-7TE120BW 2.5" 120GB SATA III HHD (media) - Seagate 3TB Barracuda SATA3 7200RPM Case - Corsair Graphite Series 230T
I got the graphics card and power supply from a friend so they are basically free, I read it will take some extra drivers but the card should still work right? Also heard that it doesn't matter too much what kind of ram you get so long as it works with the rest of your build, unlike like motherboards and CPUs.
What do you guys think, will she run? Does it have any particular bottlenecks?
Let me know if you want me info
