I recently refreshed my system to get up and going with Yosemite. Specs are:

  • Gigabyte Z97X-UD5H-BK

  • Intel 4790k i7

  • 16GB DDR3

  • 128GB SSD

Yosemite install goes smoothly after BIOS changes are made, and I can boot into the desktop. However, after installing Clover on my boot drive is when the trouble starts. I have used the guide shown here.

After rebooting, I no longer see the white screens with the gray Apple logos, but instead a black screen with a white Apple logo which is soon overlaid with error messages. I get a kernel panic, beginning with "unable to find driver for this platform: \"ACPI\"."

I have Googled until I'm blue in the face, but no luck yet. I can pop my USB Unibeast installer back into my box and boot from it to a workable desktop, but any attempt to boot straight from the hard disk gives me the aforementioned kernel panic. Can anyone give me some pointers?
