I have a successful Unibeast/Multibeast hackintosh running Yosemite that I'm very happy with. Everything is working very well except Messages and Facetime.

I understand that the technical issues surrounding Messages/Facetime on a Unibeast install are unlikely to be fixed so I'm thinking about migrating my install to Clover. In addition to wanting Messages/Facetime to work, I'm also curious/want to learn more about Clover

My hardware looks like:

  • Asus P8Z77-V LK

  • i5-5770

  • 16GB Ram (2x8GB)

  • 960GB Crucial SSD (primary)

  • 1TB Sata HDD (currently a clone of my previous 10.9 install)

What are the tradeoffs to cloning the SSD drive, wiping the partitions, performing a clean install and then restoring the things I care about from the backup versus simply installing Clover overtop of the Unibeast/Multibeast install?

I'm also curious to hear of others experiences with these types of installs.

Thanks in advance.
