I initially wanted to go with an x99 build, but since some users advised against it, I tried to build a similar system on x79. I switched to a 6-core 4930k, and put in a ASUS Sabertooth X79.
It's really important that this system runs stable since it will be used for created motion graphics and 3d animations.
I've decided to go with a 780 because it has better CUDA performance than the 970 which I will benefit from in programs like Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere Pro.
Went with the 4930k as an alternative to the 5820k.
Put in two 250Gb 840 EVO's instead of one 500GB 840 EVO so I can put them in raid to speed up performance.
In the TonyMacx86 buyers guide I saw "As of OS X 10.9.2, Ivy Bridge E/EP based systems are working with the native kernel, however workarounds are necessary for full support." Will this cause any problems?
I got all important parts from his buyers guide, so installation should go pretty smooth if I'm right (right?).
This is my first Hackintosh, I would greatly appreciate any comments on this build.
