Started with Niresh Mavericks.

Seemed to install, but then wouldn't boot.

It hung on the grey screen with the darker gray Apple logo. Booted with -v, and damnit, I can't remember what it said because it was 4,000 Google searches ago.

Tried adding DSDT for my mobo to /Extra and re-installing. Same problem.

Tried lots of stuff. I don't even know what all, because it has been half a day of attempts.

Tried to follow this, which is specifically for my mobo. At this point I upgraded to Yosemite on my MBP, and I tried to follow the 10.10 instructions, but this was only current as of the point when 10.10 was still beta.

Problem 1: Couldn't find mach_kernel where it was supposed to be found. Forum posts say that mach_kernel was used during beta for 10.10, but it's "obsolete" now. Somehow I ended up creating a USB that would completely freeze my computer when it was plugged in. I couldn't even get into my BIOS setup if it was plugged in.

I tried copying the kernel file from my MBP onto the USB. Tried also renaming it to mach_kernel. No dice. Just locked up PC even at the BIOS.

Tried UniBeast. It hangs at about 10% on the grey screen with the dark grey Apple logo. Help?
