Hi all!

Could use some advice! I’m planning my first ever build — I’ve done a lot of research and used tonymacx86 as a parts guide, but I have one very basic concern:

Would I be better off with a custom Windows PC?

Sorry if that’s heresy. I’m asking this here because I actually want you guys to convince me I’m better off with a Hackintosh as my primary machine. I saw (what I think is) a pretty decent pre-built PC and my faith has been shaken.

My theoretical Hackintosh build is more expensive with inferior components (e.g., GeForce GTX 770 as opposed to GTX 970).

My two main concerns are video editing and gaming. I run FCPX (Motion, etc) on a Macbook Pro 2012 and have a Bootcamp Windows partition for gaming. It’s obviously very limited. I’d like a Hackintosh as I prefer FCP and OS X, but would I benefit more from a Windows PC build? Is it cheaper/more powerful/more stable/more compatibility/etc? I don’t want to build a more expensive and inferior machine just for cosmetics / FCP. I could learn to love Adobe Premiere.

So why is a Hackintosh better (or at the very least, equal)?

Thank you :)
