I recently installed Yosemite on my computer, but when I went to boot it up for the first time, it only showed the left half of my screen. The problem started as soon as it started up for the first time after the apple logo disappeared and the language selection screen came up.
I was able to get through the selection boxes by guessing where the proper buttons would be and clicking around a bunch, but now that it's logged in it's really quite unusable

Additionally there are a ton of very small horizontal lines that flicker on and off rapidly (partially visible in the picture; the vertical ones are just artifacts from the camera) and the screen is very dim as visible in the photo.
My computer is a Dell Inspiron 17R N7110 with an i5-2450m, 8gb ram, 17 inch screen
OS installing: Yosemite, Niresh distro (Technically Yosemite Zone)
