Hi Hackingtoshers!
I've been building a new music studio for the past year, the budget has spiralled waaaay out of proportion.
We eed to be running Logic & Cubase at high end. So we can't buy an expensive Mac and a cheap PC - so Hackingtosh springs to mind.
Now we're looking at the central MEGA computer for the main room. It has to handle a UAD Apollo Quad Firewire Soundcard, no graphics card, UAD PCI-E audio cards and Cubase natively and Logic in Dual Boot.
We want one of these total bad-ass computers: http://xi-machines.com/en/systems-audio.php But the company won't tell us anything about running Mac stuff on them because it invalidates the license or something..
Can anyone help?!!
I've been tearing my heair out for months doing the design and decoration of this studio, all the business end of stuff, behind the scenes - website, legal, accounting etc.. I just want this computer out the way. The specs are phenomenal, they urinate all over the Mac Pro black bin and save loads of money on a graphics option we don't need.
All we'll be using on this computer is Cubase in Windows and Logic in OSX. Nothing else. But I've heard CoreAudio can freak out on Hackingtosh.
