I installed Niresh Mavericks a couple days ago. I'm also new to OS X. I have used Xubuntu for years and got fed up with it and wanted to try setting up OS X. On to my problem.. iPhoto is not installed, when i try to install it from the app store it wants to install version 9.6 which will not install and gives the error: iPhoto can't be installed on "Mavericks" because OS X version 10.10 or later is required. Is there a way to install an older version in the App Store that I am not seeing? Any ideas?
I'm not familiar with iPhoto but I am looking for an app that can sync photos to my computer and put each photo in a folder named by the date it was shot. I can use Adobe Bridge to do this, but it doesn't seem to remember which photos it has already transferred and I would prefer it to do that. If you are familiar with Shotwell on Ubuntu, it works that way. Maybe there is a better alternative I can use?
