With the 'display sleep' setting turned on in System Preferences ('computer sleep' is turned off because it wasn't always particularly reliable), after the display turns off, I can't always get it to come back on again apart from with a hard reset.

It can't be a monitor issue, since it works fine under Windows. I'm using a USB keyboard and a Magic Trackpad - when it's working normally, I can use either of them to turn the display back on, but when it's not working then nothing (including the power button) turns the screen back on.

It's not related to the amount of time spent idling with the screen off, since sometimes I can leave it hours, come back, and it'll be fine, and other times it will refuse to wake just seconds after the screen has turned off.

The machine definitely remains on, as I can access it over SSH (but not VNC / Screen Sharing). Also, sometimes it will become responsive again if left for some time.

The machine was set up following the UniBeast / MultiBeast / Chimera method as I didn't want to deal with Clover. The only 'fix' that really comes to mind is to re-install, possibly using Clover rather than Chimera, but I want to avoid this if at all possible.

My specs are below:

Intel Core i5-2500K (stock) Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H / F16 mod11 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 HD 3000 graphics 256GB Samsung 840 Pro boot drive, 2TB and 3TB hard drives formatted as HFS+, 240GB Crucial M500 formatted as NTFS for Windows 8.1 Ethernet for network access OS X 10.10.1 Chimera 4.0.1

Any ideas?
