I have installed Yosemite hackintosh and I've tried understanding my CPU temps. I have a i3 4130 with the stock cooler in a Cooler Master 130 enclosure.

Load temps (Geekbench): http://i.imgur.com/BiUhiEP.png

Intel logging of idle to load: http://i.imgur.com/NYeXFcE.png

If I reboot straight after a heavy load and go into bios the temp reported there will rarely be above 45-50 degrees, which seems more likely (ofc with the 10 seconds it takes to exit OS X and go into bios the CPU will be less loaded, but still, it wouldn't normally lower so quickly -- at least it didn't when I just waited and idle'ing inside OSX after the load)

I have gotten the temperatures to work with this guide http://olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1703:

"Application to monitor temperature, frequency and voltage of the processor: HWMonitor http://sourceforge.net/projects/hwsensors/files/ FakeSMC plugins: CPUSensors - monitor processor GPUSensors - monitor video card LPCSensors - monitor motherboard (Super I/O) ACPISensors - other not supported by LPCSensors (only works with DSDT edits, install only if you make those changes)

The value reported by the CPU is not the actual temperature, but the difference to Tjmax, which is the temperature the CPU would turn itself off to avoid damage. The Tjmax is calculated automatically, but may be incorrect, causing the temperature shown in degrees Celsius to be also wrong. In this case you can set the value manually by editing the key Tjmax in the file Info.plist of CPUSensors kext."

So my question is:

Do my temps really go this high or is it just being reported wrong?

What Tjmax should I set in CPUSensors.kext? (It is 0 by default)

Any other suggestions?

I hope to get real reporting of temps so I can configure my fan speeds to something suitable to get myself a quiet mac :)
