I've been looking for an upgrade, but didn't want to drop £7000 on a new Mac Pro for work.
After deliberation and research, I decided on the x99 platform for a bit of future-proofing. And, it also turns out that I'm a huge masochist, so it's been a wonderful experience.
After getting everything working with windows, I've totally reached the end of my knowledge, and hubris alone has gotten me a little further. Part of me wishes I'd gone with a completely natively supported build, but the rest of me is quitely confident that it'll all be ok.
Using Unibeast and RocheTech's tutorial, I've been able to install Yosemite, but only booting from USB, and with a glorious 640*480 screen resolution.
So last weekend I built a PC and failed miserably at hackintoshing, this weekend I'll be getting a lot more intimate with OSX.
If anyone has any x99 hackintosh tips, feel free to contribute!
