I deleted my HPET kext, while making a copy of it on my desktop, to solve some USB issues. Well now I am getting no HPET 0 CPU(s) configured error

All I need to do is copy the kext from my desktop back into System/Library/Extensions. However every time I boot and log in, it freezes before I can even open up Terminal.

Is there a way around loading the operating system and moving the file with a linux USB or something?

I've tried several boot options but no luck.

-v

-x

cpus=1

ForceHPET=Yes

-s

-f

and some others/combinations of above.
