I've managed to install Yosemite on the Dell XPS 17 L702x and everything is working pretty much except for the Mini DisplayPort connection.
The miniDP is connected to the i7 2630QM using Intel HD3000. As far as I can see and hopefully the screenshot will confirm it the HD3000 is installed correctly. I'm almost certain QE/CI is working correctly because the task bar appears to be transparent but for some reason there's nothing response from the miniDP connection.
Any tips would be very appreciated on this topic as I've search so much and haven't gotten anywhere in relation to this problem.
