I've got an otherwise fully functional build, but my microphone issue has been driving me crazy. I'm trying to use the onboard mic jack on my GA-Z97X-UD3H-BK motherboard. I have the ALC1150 audio driver installed, and audio output seems to work just fine.
In System Preferences>Sound I see inputs for "Internal Microphone" (but don't have one) and "Line In", but plugging in a mic produces almost no sound. If I use the earbuds that came with my iPhone, use QuickTime to record and speak very loudly into it, I can hear a lot of background static and my voice very faintly (my input level is turned up in Sound preferences). However if I use something else like Skype, I get the ambient static but no voice at all. If I use another mic, I get the ambient static, but no voice at all in both QuickTime and Skype. With the Apple earbuds I do see the mic levels move just a little bit, but not move at all with other mics (they're all verified working on my real Mac and other electronics). Just a very strange situation, and hoping someone might have insight to help me get this working.
