Hey guys, I recently bought the following parts and am attempting to hackintosh my build using this guide: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-desktop-guides/143976-unibeast-install-os-x-yosemite-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html

  • MoBo - Gigabyte Z97N-WIFI
  • Processor - i7 4790K
  • RAM - 16GB Crucial Ballistix
  • SSD - 256GB 840 EVO
  • Boot Drive - 8GB SanDisk Cruzer

I have a Graphics Card (EVGA GTX 970) but I haven't tried booting with it yet as I read that I will need to find the NVIDIA drivers anyway which will be easier when I can get OS X to install properly. The processor has integrated graphics so it shouldn't be an issue.

Whenever I try to boot it up it hangs quarter way on the Yosemite loading screen. Tried booting in verbose mode, single user mode, ignore cache mode, ignore Kernel flags mode, and safe mode and with the boot arg kext-dev-mode=1. It would end up on a blank black screen after telling me something about a mismatch and IOGraphics flags.

Any suggestions for boot flags to try, or different BIOS settings, or other trouble shooting help is much appreciated! - I used the settings from the guide above (Optimized defaults - AHCI SATA mode - Vt-d disabled - secure boot mode disabled). Couldn't find a CFG-Lock setting, though after googling around it sounds like that setting may not pertain to my build.

I'll keep trying to get it to boot and may post pictures or videos if I can identify specific points of failure.
