So I updated to 10.11.3 on my clover-based hackintosh, and since then (coupled with the new nvidia drivers for my 970) I've been getting freezes whilst gaming. I never had this problem before and I'm wondering what has changed to allow this behaviour. Specs: Intel i5 4670K EVGA GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0 MSI z87m-g43

So the behaviour is that whilst gaming my main screen turns gray, then later black. My other screen can catch my mouse and shows the spinning beach ball but I can't click on anything nor does it respond to any commands sent through keyboard. It stands still forever and I then lose my patience and restart it all. When booting up I get a error message that says my computer restarted due to some kernel panic.

Now, this problem presents itself easier if I switch to higher graphics settings. Any advice? I've checked the PSU cables and they are from different strands, I'm not sure how much power my PSU can produce but I'm not sure if a power-problem would present itself in this way. I can't see temperatures as only my SSD is picked up by HWMonitor, but the fans get louder under heavy load.

Any advice is welcome.
