I'm still trying to get a viable El Capitan dual boot setup on my gaming rig. This rig has a Gigabyte Z77 mobo, 32GB ram, no onboard wifi (not needed) & everything else it needs to be a compatible Hackintosh... except the graphics card. I'm currently running a Gigabyte R9 390X, which is completely unsupported. I've even written a framebuffer patch for the damn thing, it's no good.
I'm going to have an opportunity to install a second, more Hackintosh-friendly graphics card (R9 280). I'm thinking of double-plugging my two monitors (each with one input on each card), disabling the 280 in Windows & not injecting anything for the 390X in Clover. Would this let El Capitan use the 280 for both monitors without any negative consequences from the 390X being in the system?
I'd like to get some thoughts about this before I actually buy the card that's replacing the 280 in my gf's gaming rig.
