As my current mbp will be dying from overheating soon™, I am in dire need of a formidable replacement. As an artist, I heavily rely on CUDA and having checked mac pro I find it lacking. A lot.

I'm still waiting for apple and nvidia to release new hardware in june, but I've been following tonymacx86's customac guide for a while.

Q : How close can I get to a CUDA workstation while keeping most of OSX features? On this reddit I've seen quite a few successful builds with working Continuity and Handoff, but I couldn't find any gfx focused builds. As it's going to be my first real-deal machine I'd rather not overspend. [► source]
