So, as far as I understand it, for you to have functioning handoff/continuity, the only 100% vanilla way to do it is to buy an Apple branded Broadcom based Airport Extreme card, which go for around $40. The price is absolutely not the issue for me. I have a Thinkpad T410 which only has a half height slot for the wifi card. While there are two more mini PCIe slots on the board, they are hard coded in BIOS to only accept mPCIe SSD and WWAN cards respectively.

The Bluetooth module on this laptop is daughter card connected to a ribbon cable in the screen bezel assembly.

would this daughter card, a Broadcom BT 4.0 chipset work for at least enabling Continuity?
