So, a while back I sold my Thinkpad X1 Carbon 2015 to buy a Macbook Pro Retina 15" that I had found on craigslist. I love it, but I really missed the portability of my thinkpad. And the battery life is horrible compared to the thinkpad as well. With the amount of traveling I do, I needed something small and light, but really didn't want a Macbook Air (plus all the ones in my budget were going to be old and slow, pretty much just the base model 2008). So I looked on ebay for a while, and found this- A Dell Latitude E6220.
I fell in love instantly, I had always liked the newer Latitudes with the brushed metal back. And with all the expansion on it, I'd be able to keep it for years. Mine didn't come with anything but the laptop itself, so I needed a battery, ssd, and wifi card (with plans to add a wwan card later on). I ordered a 240GB ssd, the PNY CS1311 from Jet, took the wifi card out of my desktop (since it's mostly been relegated to running windows and playing ps2 games on my TV anyways), and ordered the 6 cell battery from ebay.
As soon as everything got here, I got to work hackintoshing it. Partitioned the drive in half, half for windows, half for El Capitan. I used the clover folder found [here](http://ift.tt/29d3uO9) for the USB, and it worked flawlessly for the install. I rebooted, and it booted into OS X just fine. Installed the kext for my wifi card, the BCM943225HMB, which I've uploaded here cause it was a pain to find and I don't remember where I found it.
I installed clover, but it wouldn't show my OS X partition. After doing some research, I removed vboxhfsplus.efi (or something like that) and used hfsplus.efi. It then gave me some errors about OSXAptioDrvFix.efi so I replaced it with this and it worked fine. I then had to replace the default touchpad kext with this, so I could get multi finger gestures working.
And now it's working almost perfectly! There are occasionally issues with artifacts on the screen, but they're infrequent. If anyone does know a solution to this that'd be awesome, but I'm not gonna mess with it anymore. It works, that's all I want. Here's the pictures I have of it. I'll probably upload more later. http://ift.tt/29rgpeZ If you guys have any questions, let me know!
