I have an Asus Maximus VI Gene (Z87) with i5-4670K and GTX 670. Some sources are saying that I may not need a DSDT since power management is natively supported with boards that have a UEFI BIOS.
My current DSDT was personally patched by mirone at TonyMac when ALC1150 was brand new, so I don't know what changes or fixes he made. DSDT editing has been something I never really understood so if I don't need to bother with one it's less stress for me.
However, if I do need one, how do I know if power management is working? Or go about figuring out what needs to be fixed/patched? I'm in the process of updating/slimming my software, BIOS, and kexts, and would like a better handle on what I'm doing.
