My MacBook Pro is turning into a snail, so I think I'm going to pull the trigger on a Hackintosh soon. Stuck to Gigabyte, Intel and Nvidia as recommended, but just want to see if there will be any issues here.
Would this build work well for heavy Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign work, as well as audio production work (using Ableton)?
Is there anything I'm going over/underboard with? Could I cut the price down any further without significant performance loss? I do plan to over clock it as much as possible so I will probably add a bunch of fans. I'm not opposed to water cooling, I just feel like for the price difference it might not be worth it.
The main goal of the system is to get the best price/performance ratio really, but I am going to need a decent amount of power as I start to get into heavy workloads that my macbook cant handle anymore, hence the 4770k. Originally I was going to go with the GTX770 but I don't know that I really need it. I will be doing some gaming (that's all windows will really be used for), but as long as I can play at 1080p with decent settings, that's fine. I don't plan to play games like crisis either, but Skyrim and Fallout 4 (fingers crossed) would be nice for sure.
Colour scheme isn't a huge deal, but I hate the gold mobo, it just seems like the best board in it's price range. If there's anything else that can match/beat it and isn't gold for around the same price, let me know.
