Had Lion running up until late last year, could I run Mavericks?

I remember having to change my BIOS but I reverted that recently when I was having other issues. Just checked your FAQ and found a guide on how to do that again, so I was wondering if anyone here has similar builds before I get started on this again.

Also, I've read conflicting reports - but does my GPU just work as I boot into OSX for the first time now? I remember having to edit dsdt file or something before.
