I've just installed Mavericks on a separate 500GB hard drive. I previously had overwritten all my Windows data because I wanted to be sure that I could install a Hackintosh on my build, and I found that I can!
So, knowing that my build works, I went out and bought my second HD. Well, after installing Mavericks this second time, I get stuck at the spinning wheel at the Apple logo and it never stops spinning. -V shows that the computer is having a kernel panic during boot. I had this problem when I initially installed OS X, but I could get past it with -maxmem=4096. Now it continues to panic, and I am stuck!

- Intel Core i5-4440 Haswell Quad-Core 3.1GHz
- GIGABYTE GA-B85M-D3H LGA 1150 Intel B85 Motherboard
- MSI GeForce GTX 760 4GB
- ADATA XPG 8GB DDR3 SDRAM 1600 (PC3 12800)
- Seagate Barracuda 1TB HD
