Hey guys,

I built a new PC a couple of months back (Intel Socket 2011) and also got a MacBook and started using OS X at my job. Long story short I got used to OS X and prefer it over Windows 8 and want to set up my Rig to dual boot with OS X and Windows now. I read how to set up a Hackintosh with Unibeast and understand how it works but I still got a question.

What's the best way to migrate my old Files?

I currently have:

  • 1 120GB SSD with an old Windows 7 partition on it (here is where I want to install OS X)

  • 1 new 250GB SSD with Windows 8 and my most important Apps

  • 2x 1TB HDD for files and backup (Shit ton of Steam-games etc.)

(I also have a NAS for music/movies)

What I want to know is what's the best way to set up my Hackintosh and migrate my Windows files.

My approach would have been:

  1. unplug all drives except SSD i want to use for OSX

  2. install OS X using uni beast

  3. move all files I want to keep to HDD

  4. plug in my SSD for Windows8

  5. install Windows (Boot priority on the Mac Partition)

  6. plug in HDD's

But I feel like this could potentially fuck up my files and there should be a better approach.

Edit: Oh also I have a SLI setup with 2 GTX 780 is there anything i need to take care of?
