To start off, I have a rev 1.1 Gigabyte Z77x-UD5H motherboard, i7-3770k CPU, Gigabyte GTX 660 GPU, and 32 GB 1600 Mhz G Skill RAM.
Frankly this seems to be a fairly cookie-cutter build with reported builds working flawlessly. I however and having ups and downs with it. Occasionally when I boot up my system report says that I have no ethernet card installed, however upon restart it appears. This is a new issue that I haven't experienced before and it's been happening since before the 10.9.4 update.
When it is recognized everything seems to be normal:
Kext name: AppleIntelE1000e.kext
Location: /System/Library.../PlugIns/AppleIntelE1000e.kext
Version: 3.0.4
For such a common build I haven't found much support for troubleshooting this particular issue. I'd love to get it fixed so I'm not at 50/50 odds of my machine working when I start up.
On top of that sleep does not work. So if you know of a fix-all solution for this system I'd love your input.
Using Chimera v3.0.1 and Ethernet Built In is checked in my boot.plist file. If you need more info to help solve it I can add more.
Thanks so much to all who took the time to read this!
