Hi All: Since I was able to get Mavericks up and running I decided it was worth the effort to try and get Yosemite running as it'll allow my GPU (EVGA GeForce GTX 750ti) to be fully recognized.
I was following this guide: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-desktop-guides/143917-guide-update-os-x-mavericks-os-x-yosemite-using-unibeast-multibeast.html
which worked -- up 'til this point: Loading the 'Install Yosemite' update from Unibeast USB, the progress bar on the grey Apple logo screen got stuck at 25% and stayed there for 2hrs+. At which point I quit and decided try again later. Anyone else have that issue?
Two things should be noted: making the Unibeast USB stick took an ungodly amount of time, about 45mins –again with a stuck progress bar– but ultimately got the Success screen/green check mark. Also, when booting from the USB to install Yosemite, it needs to be put in a USB2.0 port on the mobo as I got the mach kernal error when trying to boot from a 3.0 port on the front of my rig's case.
