I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to hackintoshing. I'm having my first major go at this and so far it seems to be working relatively well. I'm able to install and boot and have several things working for me. I'm running into issues with App Store and iCloud authentication. The exact message it's giving me is "Your device or computer could not be verified. Please contact Customer Support"
Here's my hardware:
MSI z87 MPOWER
i7 4400
16GB RAM
250GB Samsung SSD
nVidia GeForce GTX 760
Unibeast/Multibeast combo with the Chimera bootloader.
Couple of things to note: The MoBo's built-in NIC (Killer) doesnt work in OSX; so I'm using an ASUS N13 WiFi USB dongle right now. I have removed the network config and can confirm the dongle is listed as "en0". The MoBo also supports the 1150 codec, I've implemented this and can confirm it works.
Here are my questions:
Running Clover (instead of Chimera) is breaking my audio. I dont really know or understand why. My running theory is that it's modifying my config.plist similarly to one of my questions below. Any thoughts on this?
Is the fact that I don't have a recognized Ethernet the reason why iCloud/App Store authentication is failing? Would purchasing an Apple Broadcom WiFi/Bluetooth card solve this? (as seen at www.osxwifi.com)
When I follow any number of guides that tell me to manually modify my config.plist by adding keys (and corresponding strings) like "devices-properites" or "PCIRootUID" it always ends up breaking my audio, why is this?
It's also worth mentioning that with my last question, although en0 is properly applied to my wifi dongle and all other "network" devices were cleared out in System Preferences, AppStore and iCloud still do not authenticate.
Sorry if this is a total newb question but I've been at this on and off for the last two days and I feel like I'm just not finding the exact answer I'm looking for. Thanks in advance for any help!
