I recently successfully installed Yosemite and Windows 10 TP on my PC, both on separate hard drives. I boot the machine with the USB stick I made following the Tonymac guide, and select between the Mac and Windows installations. It's a bit cumbersome but I've not had success removing the USB stick out of the equation.

However, Windows 10 TP is designed to force updates which result in reboots at inconvenient times. It's a TP anyway, so I'd like to go ahead and replace it with Windows 8 until 10 comes out officially.

If I simply reformat the Windows drive/partition and install Windows 8 on it, will the USB boot loader still see it normally and be able to boot it? My guess is that it should, but boot loaders are not an area I am well versed in.
