I'm fairly new to Hackintosh, and this is my first real (non-virtual) install. Yesterday I installed El Capitan on my new 128GB SSD and after some tinkering, I got it working, apart from the audio. I ran Multibeast after installation and it should have dealt with my ALC1150, but it still wouldn't show up. At this point I jumped on the internet and downloaded several different patches, none of which worked.
This is my build:
- i5-6600k
- GTX 970 (working, with Nvidia web driver)
- MSI Z170A Gaming M5 motherboard (with Realtek ALC1150 for audio)
- 16GB DDR4 RAM
- 460GB SSD (Windows)
- 1TB HDD
- 128GB SSD (OS X / Clover)
- OS X El Capitan 10.11.4
The CPU is overclocked at 4.5GHz (from 3.5GHz) and the RAM is at 2800MHz from 2400MHz. These overclocks are completely stable as far as I can see, though I can turn them off.
Config.plist is pretty much untouched: just boot flags (-v dart=0 nvda_drv=1) and SMBIOS (MacPro3,1). As a side note, iMessage is working flawlessly (to my surprise).
Audio works fine in Windows.
I realised later that my original AppleHDA.kext was long gone, so I reinstalled OS X and didn't touch the audio with Multibeast. As expected, it's not working. I have backed up my new vanilla AppleHDA.kext from /S/L/E/. What should I download / do to get audio working?
