Hi guys, so I'm in the process of building a Hackintosh and I'm stuck. Before we begin here are the specs: MOBO: Gigabyte GA-Z170-D3H CPU: Intel Core i5 6600 RAM: 1x 8GB 2133Mhz DDR4 SSD: Crucial MX100 256GB
So I made a bootable El Capitan USB using a Yosemite virtual machine and a guide on tonymacx86.com I have also changed all the recommended BIOS settings. So I plugged the USB drive in, and I booted from it. I then booted Mac OS X from USB (in verbose mode, because before I was just granted with an Apple logo and a line that would move to about 3/4 and then show the error message in the title). So I waited about 1 minute and then after a huge chunk of text disappeared, there was just this text on the screen: "Still waiting for root device", and an X sign on the screen.
I've tried changing the USB port (message appears on both 3.0 and 2.0 ports) and installing El Capitan on the USB multiple times. I've also tried booting with the "-x -v" flags. Also I don't know if this matters but in my BIOS I enabled "XHCI" (because without it the line below the Apple logo in non-verbose mode wouldn't move at all). The same message appears with it disabled and enabled?
How do I fix this? Thanks!
