First time poster here, so thanks in advance for bearing with me.
Yesterday I got a great deal on a 30" Apple Cinema Display and G5 -$180. I bought it mostly for the display, but I've always wanted to build a hackintosh--and seeing that my MacBook is on it's last legs--I think now is the time.
Now ideally I would really love to keep the aesthetic of the display and tower and do a build inside the G5. I've done some research and read it's quite a pain for first time builders. But the new parts from the Laser Hive seem to fix the issue of the standoff locations. I would still be comfortable cutting the rear to accommodate the backplate. Does anyone have experience with these new parts? Or am I better off flipping the G5 on Craigslist (it works fine) and using that to buy a Mac-like PC case?
