Okay, so I wanted to start by saying this isn't just some hopeless "Help me!!!" post, I'm fairly competent when it comes to understanding technical details, and that's exactly what I'm here for.
I have a laptop (Thinkpad E535) running an AMD APU A4-4300m [GPU is 7420g] (and in 1 week, it will be an A10-4600m). In this process, I have managed to get nearly 100% functionality out of my device. As some of you may know, the APU has Piledriver Architecture, which is modeled after Bulldozer (AMD FX series). These processors have pretty reasonable compatibility with hackintosh.
So far, I have full audio support, webcam, optical drive, and all USB ports working.
What I don't have working:
internal wifi (but I just removed my bios whitelist, so I'll be adding a compatible miniPCI card in the near future)
QE support; this is the main reason I'm here, I'll get to that in a bit.
Sleep mode; also a part of the QE issue, I get a white screen instead of laptop sleeping.
What I would like to know are the technical details about why there isn't APU graphics support yet. Is it possible to just take the AMD 7000 series kext(s) and just edit in my v/p ID number and if not, why not? I haven't been able to get a reasonable answer out of anyone other than "becuaes nobody has doen it yte."
